All , We have a new 200E switch thats being installed by Vendor, but I dont have any configuration available on that particular switch. I tried to take the console of the switch using a serial cable and also with a Cross Cable. Nothing worked out. Is there any way around to log on to the switch? I have tried the default IP connectivity & all. but still no use. Thanks Ajay

How To: Connect a Console Cable to Brocade Hardware
All products that are shipped from Brocade may require initial configuration before the product can be placed in the network for further configurations. Console cables are shipped to allow a customer to connect to the devices and configure the devices for network connectivity. The Management Module’s Console port (which has a male DB-9 serial connector) and the 10BaseT/100Base TX Ethernet port (which has an RJ-45 UTP connector) allow you to attach a PC or terminal. From the Console port, you can access the switch’s CLI directly from the PC, terminal ,or through a Telnet connection to the PC or terminal. From the Ethernet port, you can access the switch’s CLI or Web management interface directly from the PC or terminal or through a Telnet connection to the PC or terminal. Before You Begin The following items are needed before starting this task: PC running a terminal emulation application or a terminal If connecting the PC or terminal to the Console port, a straight-through EIA or TIA DB-9 serial cable with one end terminated in a female DB-9 connector and the other end terminated in a male or female DB-9 or DB-25 connector, depending on the specifications of your PC or terminal. You can order the serial cable separately from Brocade Communications Systems, Inc. or build your own cable. If connecting the PC or terminal to the Ethernet port, a Category 5 UTP crossover cable, which you must supply. To initially configure the product in the field, you wil need a laptop computer or a dumb terminal if the customer has one in the floor. You will also need a terminal emulator on your computer such hyper terminal, PuTTY. There are many free terminal emulator software applications available that you can load on your PC and use. Newer laptops may not have a DB connection, so it is recommended to get a USB to DB connector from your local electronics store. Follow the steps below to attach a PC or terminal to the Console port or Ethernet port: This applies to all Brocade products with terminal access.
